The citizens and visitors to Aarhus had the great pleasure of admiring the beautiful Tall Ships in 2007 when Aarhus for the first time was a host port to The Tall Ships Races. The 2007 race was a great succes, and we are much looking forward to once again welcoming the magnificent tall ships and their crew members to our vibrant city.
Aarhus is a city with a proud and strong maritime heritage. In fact, more than 1200 years ago, the Vikings came to Aarhus by sea. Aarhus has also hosted several large sail sport events. Maritime events are given high priority in Aarhus, and always attract many visitors.
The Tall Ships Races 2013 will be a festive and colourful event and a great celebration for everyone taking part.
